Mickey's Roadster Racers Pit Crew Toolbox - Review

My Little Lily is a big fan of 2 things, Micky Mouse and fixing things. Lately she has been going around the house and pretending to fix things. She uses her imagination and will use anything as a hammer and has been using pens and pencils as a screw driver.

So when we got offered to review this Mickey's Roadster Racers Pit Crew Toolbox, I actually was so happy that I would no longer have to worry about her using things such a as my hair brush as a hammer.

As soon as the toy arrived Lily went mental (and yes I mean screaming "I WANT IT") mental for it.

You can clearly see what it is straight away as it doesn't come in a box and the tools are displayed in the plastic packaging. It did take me ages to get them out though and I ended up having to cut through the plastic to get to them.

But when it was finally out it looked great and Lily got straight to playing with it.

The set comes with 23 tools including a mallet, flat head screwdriver, 2 wrenches, play metal plates, screws, nuts and nails. The nails are in the shape of Mickey mouse which is great and keeping with the theme of the toy. It all comes in a tool box which is just like Mickeys from the show. The tool box even has holes in it so then you can hammer in the nails or attach the metal plates to it.

Lily spend ages playing with this toy and really got the hang of screwing the screws into the metal plate after I showed her how. She couldn't get the hang of using the wrenches but i'm sure she will soon. She also loves using the mallet to hammer in the nails. Though she was a little heavy handed and the mallet is quite strong so needed to be reminded to bang a little more gentle. Which isn't always possible. I would of maybe liked the mallet to be a little softer so then she could hit as hard as she liked.

Lily really loves this toy and has been playing with it a lot. If you are looking for a tool kit for your little one then this is a good choice. It comes with everything your child would need from a tool box and is brilliantly themed with mickey's roadster racers.

You can buy it from Smyths Toy Stores and it is £14.99 and for kids aged 3-6 years old. It is part of a bigger range of toys which you can also see on the Smyths Website.

Would your child enjoy this toy?

  8. Yes! Your review made me smile as children who are lucky enough to receive toys like this always seem to have 'helpers' like dads and gramps.
