My Photography Post - August 2017

As well as working hard being a mummy to Lily, one of the other things I do is photography. I shoot lots of different things, fashion, weddings, photo journalism, though at the moment not getting much time to shoot.

To keep my head in photography I have decided to do a blog post a month all about my photography, you can see July's post here

I haven't actually done any photography since I got back from holiday. I really don't now where the time has gone from then to now. But luckily I took enough photographs on holiday to be able to create a nice selection of photographs. These photographs I am about to show are different from last months. They are all about little details I have spotted rather than the landscapes. I hope you like them.

1. Garden Flower
This was taken the week before going on holiday in my mums garden. I really do like to make the simplest little flowers for my photographs. They can usually make stunning photographs by not being to in your face.

2. Still Garden
Although when I took these, the weather wasn't still at all. I do love the simplicity and stillness of this photograph. I think it is amazing what images you can make out of the simplest little flowers in your garden. I love how this one stands alone. You may notice it is the same flower as the one above. But by photographing it from a different angle it changes and makes a different picture.

3. Weymouth Fish Food Festival - Busy Harbour
The weekend we arrived on Holiday it was the weekend of the seafood festival. The harbour was so busy and you can just see to the side where the pub is how busy it was. There was lots of eating and drinking and the man in the little boat was making announcements up and down the harbour. It was a great place to take photographs but unfortunately a little to busy to as you could hardly move to be able to get good pictures of people.

4. Weymouth SeaFood Festival - Cooking Pizza
There was so many different types of food being cooked on the stalls. I loved this one with the pizza ovens on fire. Just shows you can cook anywhere that you need to. My dad had one of the pizza's and said they were really good.

5. Weymouth Seafood Festival - A Moment to Rest.
This stall was offering pork and fish burgers as well as other things. I am not a huge fish food lover so wasn't taking a huge amount of notice of what was cooking but I did think that this guy here looked cool resting. He needed it, I bet he was worked off his feet at this festival.

6. Pond
I know I don't have much colour in this blog post so far. I am a big fan of black and white, but I loved the colours of these lily pads floating on this dark pond. prettiest pond I have ever seen and I just had to get a photograph of them.

 7. Words to Live by
As I was walking under the Rodwell Tunnel in Weymouth. I spotted these words on the wall. I am a big fan of graffiti anyway but these words I just had to get a photograph of. What great words to live you life by. I wonder how many people have passed by it and been inspired.

8. Love?
When I spotted this placed onto the wall, I thought to myself Love? Yes, I do love the view i'm seeing right now, the place I am in, and most importantly life. Some people really wouldn't like the fact this is placed here. Its graffiti in a very public place, passed often. But I love it and don't see any problem with it other than a reminder to love.

9. Beer anyone?
As you may have heard me rant on before. I am a huge fan of lighting and love how it can fall on things, making them stand out and to my eyes and look beautiful. Well this is exactly why I photographed these beer barrels. Sat there outside the pub glistening away all shiny. I just had to get a nice black and white photograph. Call me crazy... but i'm sure that i'm not the only one to have called a barrel of beer beautiful before haha.

 10. For number 10 I actually don't have a photograph as such, but something exciting to tell you about my photograph. My love of Photography and Weymouth have both joined and there is a photography contest to win a holiday in Weymouth. Of corse, I had to enter! A great way to show off my photograph but also a chance to head back to my favourite place to get even more photographs. So please, If you like my photograph and could spare a moment, please head to the link and vote. It will take you a click of a button when you get there. Thank you !!!!
