So i've cheated and instead want to say Its fine to be a mum who isn't great at crafts! There is help out there and it all comes with a simple handing over of a pound coin to a shop keeper at the Works, which happens to be one of my favourite stores.
Yep, last week I headed to the Works to pick up a nice Easter craft pack so then Lily can join in the Easter fun.
For £1 the pack was great. It had 8 Easter shapes all cut out, 4 sheets of coloured paper in yellow, pink, blue and green. Some wobbly eyes, and sequins.
We got it home and Lily just couldn't get enough of getting to do some colouring and sticking. I let her use felt tips of her choice to decorate her shapes while I cut out some smaller colourful shapes for her to stick on them. I let Lily choose the colours and so thats why the chick has a blue nose and the rabbit green whiskers. I also encouraged Lily to stick the shapes in the right places although she knows full well where to stick the eyes and nose and where to give things hair. So I can safely say the work you can see her hold up in a moment is entirely hers.
We are going to put some sting on them and stick them up as decorations for the week. Im really impressed with them and think they look great.
So here are the photographs of Lily making her £1 Easter decorations.
Are you any good at crafts or are you a £1 craft kit mum too?
Simple crafts are the best, especially with young children. The process is what matters the most.
ReplyDeleteThese are great! I'm a terrible crafter, but my 5 year old is very inventive and creative xx
ReplyDeleteI'm going to toot my own horn and say I'm good at crafts however, I'm impatient when it comes to crafting with my son, so I also tend to buy ready made kits for him :) and he enjoys it. There's no shame in that :) yesterday we tried the toucan box and now we have a nice decoration to hang Coke Easter :)
ReplyDeleteLooks like Lily had fun being creative. Easter is a lovely time of year. Celebrating with the use of decorations seems a nice idea.
