To keep my head in photography I have decided to do a blog post a month all about my photography, you can see Octobers post here.
So recently I haven't had much chance to take photographs, but there was one day this year I could not resist grabbing my camera and taking photographs.
That was the day, the sun turned orange. It was such a strange day, Ireland was getting the worst with the hurricane and we had a strange orange sun and everything had a weird orange tinge to it. It was also strangely quiet that day and everything felt a little surreal.
The thing about photography is that you can use the camera to make something stand out. Also a camera can really pick up what the lighting is really like. Using different settings you can get different effects and so this is what I was experimenting with on this day. By darkening the image, you can make things such as the tree's turn into a silhouette and make the sun shine even brighter.
So here are my photographs of the orange sun and things around it that day.

I like them best as a complete set; they create such strange, unsettling, yet somehow inviting atmosphere. Quite bewitching. They capture the run-up to Halloween perfectly.ReplyDelete
