3rd Birthday Gift Guide and Giveaway - Artsy and Birthday Lottie Dolls

It is the second day of Lily's Birthday gift guide and giveaway and today we have one of my favourite doll brands. Lottie!!!!

I have really grown to love Lottie and everything that she stands for and promotes. Lily's collection is really growing and so we were happy to welcome 2 new additions into the family.

We were sent Birthday Girl Sophia and Always Artsy Lottie.

I really do love how Lottie is presented in her box. Each one personalised for the style of the doll showing things relating to that dolls subject. Sometimes I really don't want to take them out of the box because they look that nicely presented. But that is just the collector side of me coming out.

Of corse the boxes are made extra special with the medal that hangs from the front showing that they are a positive role model winner and an inspired by kids winner.

Those are the 2 things I love the most about Lottie, is that they are inspired by real kids and they are encouraging them to be kids by providing positive role models that don't pressure them to grow up to fast. They really are great positive role models and they inspire kids to be who they want to be and enjoy things like arts, and sports and getting outdoors.

So lets talk about the 2 dolls that we were sent.

First up is Birthday Girl Sophia, which is of corse very appropriate for Lily's birthday and also makes the perfect gift for any child on their Birthday.
I wrapped her up for Lily and as soon as she opened her she was delighted. "A New Dolly" she said.

Lily just adored her and couldn't of been happier to receive her on her birthday. She is really getting into playing with her dolls now she is a little older and was super happy to have her join the rest of her dolls. She gave her a big hug and then got the rest of her dolls and introduced them all to each other.

Sophia is beautiful. She has really natural long blonde hair and blue eyes. Her outfit is also really pretty. She wears a pink and white top with a cup cake on it, a grey tutu style skirt with stripy quarter length leggings under and some trainers. I think it is the perfect outfit. It is girly but not overly girly with it not being a dress and instead having leggings and a skirt. Lily isn't a girly girl and although for her party she wore a grey dress with a tutu, she also wore leggings and trainers with it. Again I think the outfit shows children just being children and not feeling the need to overly dress up.
She also comes with a really cute pink sparkly bag and some birthday cards.

Next we have Always Artsy Lottie.

I have always been interested in art and Lily also enjoys it too. It was my favourite subject in school and actually I wish that after leaving school I would of studied it a little more. But I was pushed into choosing something more "career" based and ended up in childcare. I did pull my creative side back though and now do my photography.
I love that Lily enjoys art and so I love that she has this doll to show her that art is a really positive thing to do.

Artsy Lottie is a really good role model encouraging children to be creative and showing them that they can be who they want to be and enjoy the things they want to do.

Artsy Lottie comes with 3 paint pots, an easel, a paint palette and paintbrush and some paintings. Also a neck scarf and a blue hat. The paint brush will sit in her hand so then it looks like she is painting and the paintings will sit on the easel.

Artsy Lottie is also really beautiful. I really love how they have styled her. Her outfit is really artsy and I love the green'y blue colour they have chosen for her trousers and shoes. Green is my favourite colour and blue is Lily's and so its nice for a doll to show that children can wear other colours.

But my favourite thing about her is her short bob style hair cut. At the moment my hair is back long but I also went through a time where I wanted to look different and so cut my hair into an extreme bob. I think it is great to show girls that they don't have to have long princess flowing hair to be a girl.

I love that Lottie dolls really like to break the stereotype with looks. If children only ever see dolls looking one way, and showing no differences, then I believe children will grow up thinking its the norm to look a certain way to be beautiful. I love that Lottie dolls show different hair styles and hair colours, different styles of clothing and also have started to introduce things like hearing aids.

Im really looking forward to seeing what other dolls Lottie come up with in the future. There are definetly a few dolls I would still love Lily to have that Lottie have already made. Head here to the Lottie Website to take a look at other dolls.
