Lily's New Favourite Word.

Over the last few weeks Lily has learnt a brand new word and its starting to get used more and more. That word would be...

NO

I have been looking forward to Lily learning the words yes and no so she can start to tell me what she wants to do and what she likes but unfortunately she has only learned one of those words and it happens to be no first.

She also knows how to use that word now and uses it as much as she can.

She says it in a few different ways also... she says noooooooooo and runs away, and then will say a simple no and shake her head.. but then she also says.. Na! for a quick way of saying it.

For example it made me laugh the other day out walking with her toy pram and she stopped pushing and left it behind. I got it for her and said. "Lily push baby" and she replied with a Na! and carried on walking away casually.

She has even started saying it even when she does want something. Like the other night when I asked her if she wanted a yogurt after her dinner. She said no, but I got one for her anyway and then she ate it.

She says it so much I've even started asking her questions where the answer would be yes. Like...

"Is your name Lily"
"No"
"Am I your mummy?"

"No"
"Do you know any other word other than no?"

"No"

All I can say is as much as it does humour me at times. Bring on her learning the word YES!

What did your child learn first? Yes or No?

  2. Haha...my two have no down to a fine art, little charmers! Was definitely that word first. I won't tell you S's new word - it's rude! And she now says it after dropping something after hearing me say it when I dropped something heavy on my toe. Oops.

  14. I think my two both said no first as well. It is funny to hear them saying it over and over but it does get quite wearing after a while too! Hope Lily starts learning the word "yes" as well soon! Thanks for linking up to #ftmob :-)
